2022 ended with a bang for Woodley White, who’s the star of the show at Summertime Gallery in NYC.

The New Year got off to a tremendous start for Woodley White, who’s the star of the show at Summertime Gallery in NYC. In December, Woodley traveled to New York to celebrate the opening of his show at Summertime, “A Woodley White Solo Exhibition + Ode to the Tee,” which featured many of his drawings of tee-shirts.

For the show’s opening in December, the gallery threw a party for Woodley featuring all his favorite foods. Smiling from ear to ear with a row of his paintings on the wall behind him, Woodley greeted friends and gallery visitors who stopped in to celebrate his work. As a self-taught, self-employed artist, Woodley’s work has enabled him to build relationships with people through common interests, make social contacts, travel to new places, all while earning money for his outstanding creations.

One of the truly great things about this event was that Woodley was able to stay for the entire opening, which he has not been able to do before. The gallery made some great accommodations, which made it more comfortable for him to stay and enjoy the whole event.

We are so proud of Woodley, and grateful for all the folks at CIS whose work fosters independence for the people we serve, helping to further integrate them into their communities through meaningful employment. Woodley’s show is up through January 15—make sure to check it out if you’re in NYC!
