Congrats, grads! We’re throwing our hats in the air for Janet, Khalil, and Tiara, who last week joined hundreds of other students at Temple’s graduation ceremony for the College of Education and Human Development.

These three superstars were celebrating their successful completion of Temple’s Leadership and Career Studies program, a 4-year certificate program that gives young adults with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to attend Temple (non-matriculated) and get the full college experience.

This trailblazing program couples classes with exciting and valuable work experiences for program participants. Janet was a Teacher’s Aid Intern at the Gesu School, which helped her land a job at NEST, Philly’s all-in-one playspace and childhood education center. Khalil got important administrative experience at two different architecture labs in the Tyler School of Art and Architecture, which will help propel his job search. So did Tiara, who gained work experience in Temple’s College of Music and the Campus Recreation department. She was recently hired in her first-choice job at a restaurant with a great cause: Mission BBQ!

Check out the short video to see each of them take the stage. We are so proud of these program grads, and wish them well in the careers that await them!
