We’re so excited to share these pictures of Stephen, who recently received an award honoring his ten years on the job at one of the Brown Family ShopRite stores.

A luncheon was held at the Green Valley Country Club to honor Stephen and other long-time ShopRite employees. Sitting alongside his brother and his Job Coach CJ, Stephen got to dig-in to some delicious food, and received a certificate commemorating his outstanding commitment to his work.

Stephen was first hired in 2011, and has excelled in his decade at the store. He works primarily in Returns, organizing shop-backs and re-shelving food items, but he’s mastered a range of roles and is known for his friendly demeanor and his great customer service.

At the luncheon, Stephen reflected on what a supportive environment he’s found at the store. It’s one of a number of ShopRites owned and run by Jeffrey Brown, who’s made a tremendous impact bringing grocery stores (and jobs) to historically underserved Philadelphia neighborhoods that have long needed access to fresh food and vegetables (more on that here). Stephen’s found community there, and a supportive group of colleagues who’ve come to feel like family.

Congrats to Stephen on this incredible accomplishment, and here’s to many more anniversaries in a job he loves!
