This year’s NDEAM theme is “good jobs for all,” and that’s exactly what we strive for here at CIS. In the past month, CIS staff helped 30 job-seekers with a disability find good-wage, sustaining employment at places across Philadelphia and Delaware including a local museum, the Philadelphia School District, and a much-loved local clothing store.
Job-seekers with a disability often face negative stigmas and stereotypes, and the diversity of these placements underscores just how much the people we serve can accomplish if only given the chance.
Congratulations to all our participants who started a new job last month, and a big shoutout to all our job developers and employment coaches who do so much to help CIS participants find success at work!
Stay tuned to our page all October as we celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month, and head to https://cisworks.org/cis-careers/ for open opportunities to join our team.
