You might know the proverb that goes, “Give a man a fish, and he eats for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he eats for a lifetime.” 

We’re so proud to see CIS participants putting that wisdom into practice, as in this photo where Eric is teaching Raiquan how to change the receipt paper in the pumps at Royal Farms. 

Eric’s a veteran presence at Royal Farms, and he’s been doing a great job training Raiquan, another CIS participant who was recently hired there. Eric’s taken Raiquan under his wing, and is helping him learn different tasks around the store and expand his skillset. 

While Eric may not be teaching Raiquan to fish, exactly, he is helping him learn new skills that will set Raiquan up for a future of meaningful employment.
