Julia came to CIS during her high school transition years and, after exploring many types of work with her job coach, Liv, landed at Compendium Boutique. Compendium’s owner, Emily, offered a supportive and creative environment where she could learn and grow and officially hired her in late 2012.
Working together at Compendium, the trio formed a special bond and wanted to work together on a deeper level. Julia’s zest for dance and music, combined with her interest in pattern and color, is the inspiration that sparked Dance Happy Designs! The independently owned silk-screen print studio launched in August 2016 and experienced immediate success, almost selling out of all inventory on the first day. Since then, Dance Happy has secured its first wholesale account, launched a website, and been featured at regional events. Each founder brings a different set of skills to the table, complementing each others’ strengths, and all have an equal voice at the table and in the business. The founders believe that while everyone’s capabilities may vary, everyone can create great things when we work together.
