As we continue our celebration of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we want to shine a light on our Project SEARCH Programs in Delaware, and the incredible job they do helping high school students with disabilities gain real-world work experience through supportive and engaging internships with organizations throughout the state.
Throughout the school year, participants like Jillian (pictured) intern with partner organizations like the Delaware Department of Transportation, Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, BayHealth Hospital, and Christina Care Health System. Those internships give them vital, hands-on experience in the workplace, and provide them with a taste of some of the different careers they might choose to pursue.
We’re particularly excited to feature Jillian, who got her start at the Delaware Department of Transportation as a Project SEARCH intern, and now works there as an important member of the office team. Congratulations to Jillian, who transformed her internship into a lasting and fulfilling job at DelDot. To learn more about our participants and the success they’re finding in the workplace, head on over to our blog!
