Participant Spotlight: Brett Goes to Work for a Great Cause

Today we shine a light on Brett, who’s not only beginning a neat new job, but putting his skills to work on behalf of a great cause. Brett was hired as a Site Attendant at GreenDrop, an innovative, environmentally conscious company that collects donations of clothing and household items on behalf of four nationally renowned charities. In his role as Site Attendant, Bret holds a key position at a local GreenDrop location, assisting those dropping off donations and making sure the proceeds go the person’s charity of choice.

It was important to Brett to work for a company that’s conscious about its environmental impact. He works at Trader Joe’s in addition to his new job at GreenDrop, and loves the company’s sustainability initiatives. He was excited to join GreenDrop for the same reason, as well as the fact that their work raises funds for the American Red Cross, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, the National Federation of the Blind, and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Philadelphia.

While the outside world may feel quiet, many CIS participants like Brett continue to go into work at essential businesses, while others continue to seek and obtain new jobs with the help of our hardworking Employment Support Professionals. Pictured along with Brett are Joann, who’s back to work at two CVS locations; Nannette, who’s continued to work at Rite Aid throughout the pandemic; and Julian, a Customer Service Associate in the Garden Center at Lowe’s, who’s received a $2/hour raise due to his hard work throughout the pandemic.

We are so proud of the way each of them has adapted to the challenges presented by the pandemic, and we wish Brett the best of luck in his new position.
