Pizza anyone? Give a round of applause for Michael, who’s loving his internship at Romano’s, a local, family-owned pizza spot.

Michael is part of our School-to-Work Transition program, and has thrived in his time at Romano’s, where he’s learning the ins and outs of pizza making, service, and restaurant operations.

He couldn’t have found a better place to learn the trade: Romano’s has been around for more than 70 years, and is the oldest family-owned and operated Italian restaurant in Delaware County.

Michael has been working with Romano’s for more than a month now, and his managers tell us he’s been an absolute joy. He’s hard-working, ambitious (Michael wants be a chef with a Michelin star), has strong culinary skills, and enjoys his position at Romano’s. He told us he’s learning a ton, and having fun along the way.

Big thanks to Romano’s owner Peter Romano and the Romano’s staff for being such a great support to Michael and helping him along on his culinary journey, and a shoutout to CIS’s Sabrina Callender for supporting Michael and sending along the great photo.
