Light has returned to the silver screens of Manayunk, where Maurice is back at work in the job he loves at Regal’s Main Street Theatre.

It’s a sweet return for Maurice: he was hired at the theater in 2019. He quickly found his stride and developed strong relationships with his co-workers, only for the pandemic to arrive and force the theater to close its doors.

Maurice is a quick learner and fast to adapt: with the theater shuttered, he got a job at Longhorn Steakhouse—a natural fit for his good spirits and people skills.

Then one afternoon last summer his phone lit up: on the other end was his old manager, inviting him to return to his job at the theater.

Now Maurice is back at the ticket stand, greeting moviegoers and pointing them in the direction of the concessions.

His favorite perk of being back? Taking advantage of the free screenings of brand new movies. “Who wouldn’t?” he asked.
