As we continue our 30th anniversary celebration, we’re excited to celebrate Griff and our partnership with Delaware’s Project SEARCH programs that helped propel him from an internship to a full-time position with one of the region’s leading healthcare providers.
Griff works full time on the Environmental Services team at Bayhealth Hospital, Sussex Campus in Milford. He was hired in May and has thrived in his role. He’s known among his colleagues for his great sense of humor, and his manager Jennifer cheered Griff for his awesome work ethic and how quickly he’s progressed at his job.
We’re extra excited to feature him because he got his start as an intern at Bayhealth’s Kent Campus through Project SEARCH. The program helps high school students with disabilities gain real-world work experience through supportive and engaging internships with Delaware-based partner organizations.
We are so proud of Griff, who transformed his internship into a full-time job, and grateful for all our Delaware Project SEARCH partners, who’ve helped participants like Griff, Ivan (in the maroon shirt!) and Jillian find meaningful careers at partner organizations like the Delaware Department of Transportation, Tidal Health, Bayhealth Hospital, and Christiana Care Health System.
We’d also like to recognize the respective school districts partnering with our PS sites: Red Clay School District, Caesar Rodney School District, Capital School District, Seaford School District, and key partners POW&R/Autism Delaware, Delaware Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, DHSS’ Division of Developmental Disabilities Services, and CR Countywide Programs.
