CIS Delaware – Sussex County is proud to place the spotlight on a long time participant of ours: David. He’s celebrating 4 years of successful employment at Applebee’s in Seaford, Delaware. David joined Applebee’s back in 2016 as a part-time dishwasher working two nights a week. Shortly after that he moved to food prep duties.

Even though his job tasks have changed over the years, his hard work and dedication have not. Last year David received a pin, a letter of appreciation in honor of his three-year anniversary, and a meal on them. There’s no telling what great things await him this year.

Applebee’s of Seaford recognized David not only for the length of his service but his “dedication to upholding the company’s values which include outstanding customer service that exceeds the standards of the restaurant industry.”

Recently, David had been temporarily laid off because of the business slow-down due to the pandemic. Many people would see this time off as an opportunity to kick back and relax, but not our guy. Undaunted, he persisted and called back every week hoping he could get back in there and once again contribute to the Applebee’s team.

His manager reached out to David and CIS shortly after, and came up with a new job flow that would get him back to work. CIS’s own primary job coach Orville worked closely with Applebee’s management team to create a new job flow that met the restaurant’s new need for high touch areas to be cleaned and sanitized. David quickly learned the new skills he needed to complete these new tasks.

Customers can rest assured that David and his fellow team members have gone above and beyond to make sure that their dining experience will be in a clean and safe environment. We are proud to be associated with David and wish him every success in his position at Applebee’s for years to come.
