April showers bring May flowers, and may have bought some new jobs for our participants as well! Please give it up for Darryl, one of the Philadelphia School District’s newest employees. Darryl completed his first day this past week and is off to a great start in his new position.

Darryl was hired on the dining team at a local elementary school. He only just started, but he’s already learning new skills and forming friendships with his co-workers. Darryl also set himself up nicely for success: he’s a former Project SEARCH participant, a program that provides job preparedness skills to Philadelphia School District students with disabilities. The tools he learned as part of the program have helped him make the transition from school to employment.

Big thanks to CIS Assessment Manager Monique DuPree for sending along this photo, and congratulations to Darryl on a great start!
