October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month!

NDEAM is a celebration of America’s workers with disabilities, and the tremendous value they bring to the workforce. It is also a time to celebrate the businesses that have embraced inclusive hiring practices, and spread the word about the benefits that can be achieved by working with organizations like CIS to hire, train, and retain quality workers with disabilities.

Throughout October, we’ll be sharing stories of CIS participants—grocery store clerks, administrative professionals, caretakers and activity coordinators at local nursing homes, and beyond—and the important contributions they make at their places of employment.

Stay tuned to our blog (and Facebook page!) as we take this month to honor our participants’ work, highlight exemplary employers, share resources, and raise awareness of the importance of increasing access and inclusion for people with disabilities.
