A big shout out to our own Abdul, an administrative assistant at CIS who was part of a panel discussion for the Neurodivergent Young Autistic Adult Council (NYAAC) at Drexel University. Among other neurodivergent advocates, Abdul talked about his life “Adulting on The Spectrum.”

The Council put on a question-and-answer session where panelists like Abdul spoke on some of the challenges and successes they have encountered as adults. In the audience were current participants of CIS-led Project SEARCH and Project Career Launch Programs, two school-to-work transition initiatives that help youth with disabilities prepare for employment after high school.

As a graduate of the Project SEARCH program himself, Abdul set a great example to our current SEARCH and PCL participants, who found his insights really resonant. They also see him as a model to emulate given the success he’s found in his job at CIS.

Join us in congratulating Abdul, and follow along all October as we celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month!
